The Meadowcreek Story

About Meadow Creek

Meadow Creek is a covenanted subdivision located in Colorado City, Colorado, in the scenic Greenhorn Valley beneath the 12,346-foot Greenhorn Mountain.

Established in 1972 and originally known as Hollydot Park, the subdivision was named after landowners Holland Duell (“Holly”) and his wife Dorothy (“Dot”). Mr. Duell later partnered with Conyers Stewart to form Duell and Stewart Thoroughbreds, breeding the notable racehorse Colorado City, which won multiple stakes races.
This equestrian heritage reflects the deep agricultural roots of the area and remains an important part of Meadow Creek’s history. Today, the community continues as a well-maintained neighborhood grounded in stewardship, pride of ownership, and respect for its legacy.
